Celebrating Volunteering

We’re half way through Volunteers’ Week, so we thought it would be a good time to explore the more unusual side of volunteering…

Nothe of the Living Dead is a charity fundraiser with a difference – a combination between the Walking Dead and Crystal Maze, with a pinch of The Addams Family thrown in for good measure.

The event is a collaboration between ICA, Nothe Fort and EPIC. Its small (but beautifully put together) production team rely heavily on the efforts of a wonderfully creative group of volunteers (and the spookiest of spooky venues).

But it’s not all about fear and fun. Every penny of profit from the event goes to support ICA’s services for older, vulnerable residents across Portland and the surrounding area + the fabulous Nothe Fort venue.

Here are a few shots to celebrate the scariest volunteers this side of Transylvania!
