ICA’s October Activities

COVID-19

ICA are continuing to provide support, including shopping, prescription pick-ups and errands to those that are shielding. If you are not shielding, but feel you still require support (whether an existing client or new), please give us a call and we can discuss your options.

OTHER SERVICES

ICA’S COMMUNITY CAR SERVICE now running for essential trips. Must be booked in advance. ICA’s transport operates on donations and with volunteer drivers. Call us on 823789 for more information, to book and to discuss our COVID-19  requirements.

ICA’s MINIBUS running shopping trips to Tesco every Friday am. Call us on 823789 for more information, to book and to discuss our COVID-19 requirements. Cost £4.00 return.

FIT+ EXERCISE CLASS – Wednesdays, 11.30am–12.30pm at the YMCA, Reforne. Tutor led. Features cardio and core muscle strengthening exercises with a ‘hint of disco-ball. First session free, then £4.00 per session. COVID-19 – Masks to be worn when entering building but can be removed for the activity. Social distancing will apply. Advance booking essential for new attendees – call 823789.

OSTEOCISE EXERCISE CLASS – Every Monday from 5th October, 10am-11am at the Girt Hall, St Georges Centre, Reforne. Features seated and standing exercises, stretching, stamina and core strengthening work. Ideal for joint problems, including arthritis and osteoporosis. Supports weight loss. Helps maintain and improve mobility. Tutor led. First session free, then £4.00 per session (including refreshments). COVID-19 – Masks to be worn when entering building but can be removed for the activity. Social distancing will apply. CHESIL ART (CHAT) – Thursdays from 3rd September, 1.00pm–3.30pm at St. John’s Hall, Ventnor Road, Fortuneswell.  Members can enjoy painting or sketching alongside others in a friendly and welcoming environment, using a range of materials. Suitable for beginners upwards. Tutor support. Materials can be borrowed for the first few sessions. First session free, then £4 per session (including refreshments). COVID-19– Masks to be worn when entering building but can be removed for the activity. Social distancing will apply. THE MAN SHED – An informal and welcoming space for men aged 18+ to share and learn new skills, socialise and work on individual and/or community-based DIY, woodworking and furniture restoration projects. Open Mondays and Wednesdays.

THE WOMEN’S SHED – For woman aged 18+ with an interest in basic DIY, woodworking or furniture refurbishment? Open Thursdays.

Friday am is a shared space for both men and women.

The Shed is based at 41 Chiswell, (next to the Ocean Bay Chinese takeaway). Opening hours – Monday, Wednesday, Thursdays and Fridays 10am–12.30pm and 1.30p–4pm. £15 life membership + £5 per 2.5hr session.  Attend the am or pm sessions, or both.

We are continually reviewing our other services and will be getting them up and running as soon as we are confident they can be run safely.
