Today we’ve been able to surprise two groups of community heroes that were each nominated multiple times and a lovely couple who’ve been great neighbours.
The first was Cllr Rob Hughes and the team, including Cllr Peter Roper and Tim Archer, who’ve been out and about making Portland sparkle with Christmas lights right across the island. They’ve been enjoyed by all of us, thank you.
The second was Lucy Grieve and the team, including Paula Klaentschi, Sandy Whitehead and Wendy Astley, who’ve been leading the Stop Portland Waste Incinerator campaign – an initiative supported by many residents from Portland and the surrounding areas. A massive thank you for your time and effort from all of those that nominated youl.
The final treat was delivered to Mr and Mrs Hardcastle, who have struggled with being stuck indoors since March, but have continued to be great neighbours, full of smiles and gratitude for any support they’ve been given.
Huge thanks to Kelly and the team at Portland Magic for sponsoring the gifts and to Sarah Harte for her fabulous cake donations (she even made one for the ICA volunteer team)!
