Advent Angels – Day 15

Today’s Advent Angels has been all about the boys today, three different generations who all deserve a ‘Thank you,’ ‘We appreciate you,’ or, ‘Welcome to our Community.’

First up was our youngest nominee, at 13yrs old. Jimmy has not long moved to the Island with his mum and brother. He has found leaving his friends and old school difficult on top of losing his dad earlier this year. Thanks to Vicky Short and The Official Test Centre (OTC) we’ve been able to surprise him with a paddle boarding or windsurfing experience that will hopefully help him to enjoy the benefits of living here (once the Sun comes out)! Thanks also EPIC Games Dorset for the board game.

Second up was Liam Bargery, who was nominated by his mum to show how proud she was of him, working long hours all through lockdown to ensure emergency blood bikes stayed on the road. Nice one Liam! We hope you enjoy these treats donated by Chesil Property Maintenance and cake from Sandra Martin.

Lastly was our oldest gent, Mr Dave Darby, who was nominated as a, ‘Thank you,’ for all his hard work over the years for the Friends of Victoria Gardens and Portland Bowls Club. He told us that until recently he hasn’t missed a day litter picking in the gardens in over 13 years! We were delighted to be able to surprise him with some goodies donated by local people.
