Future Portland

WHO WE ARE – The Future Portland Community Benefit Society (CBS) is a collaboration between three successful and experienced island-based organisations – ICA, b-side and The Portland Association.

We formed the CBS in response to our individual and collaborative research and consultations, which led to the realisation that we share a vision and desire to support Portland’s community to have a stronger voice and more influence around what happens to and on our island.

OUR AIMS – Overall, our key ambitions include:

  • Working collaboratively to drive and support a dynamic and innovative vision and future for Portland
  • Helping to mobilise and encourage community action, ambition and aspiration
  • Improving the lives, opportunities, and experiences available to Portland residents
  • Showcasing and protecting Portland’s unique heritage, culture, and history, including its natural and built environments.

OUR PROJECTS – Currently, our focus is on purchasing two-acres of France Quarry – a green haven in the heart of Easton, Portland. Find out more and how you can support this work HERE.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED – Future Portland is a membership led organisation, with all members getting a say and a vote on the CBS’s most important decisions. You also get to invest in projects that benefit Portland and its community, and, depending on the project, you may also receive special perks, like discounts and member-only events.

YOUR SUPPORT IS ESSENTIAL IF WE’RE TO ACHIEVE OUR AIMS.

To join, simply fill in a membership form and pay the fee. Forms can be downloaded below. They are also available via our Facebook page or by emailing: secretary.futureportland@gmail.com.

You pay a one-off joining fee (secures your share) + an annual subscription fee. Fees vary depending on whether you’re an individual or an organisation, and where you reside:

  • Portland resident: Joining fee = £5 + £5 annual subscription (renewel fee due on anniversy of joining)
  • Non-Portland resident: £5 to join + £10 annual subscription (as above)
  • Portland organisation representative: £5 + £15 annual subscription (as above)
  • Non-Portland organisation representative: £5 + £20 annual subscription (as above)
