Governance

ICA is an Incorporated  Charity registered with the Charity Commission.

ICA’s Board of Trustees are responsible for making sure that ICA carries out the purposes for which it was created, complies with its governing document and charity law requirements, and ensures its future strategy and decisions are made in the best interests of ICA and the community it serves.

ICA’s current Board of Trustees are made up of:

Treasurer, Lynda Gallie

Retired playgroup manager.

Secretary, Anita Busby-Wilcocks

Anita currently works in education.

Prior to this she was a Community Development Worker for Dorset County Council. She also worked in the BBC as a Senior Producer for New Media & Technology and a Producer for Watchdog, Rogue Traders and BBC Health.

ICA also employs five part-time members of staff, funded through various grants, who manage the day-to-day operations of the charity: managing our partnerships, finance and funding, recruiting, training and supporting volunteers, setting up and running our activities and projects, organising events and transport, and generally keeping the office ticking over!

In addition, we have over 100 volunteers doing all sorts of roles, from working in the office and driving our vehicles to running our clubs and activities, befriending and fundraising. Their role is essential to the delivery of all ICA’s activities and services.
